in brisbane we "hired" a car and drove north two hours to noosa...it was dp's debut driving on the wrong side of the road...at the rental car place, a family was returning a brand new car with a smashed up left front end...seemed like it might've been their debut on the wrong side of the road too. we opted for the full insurance coverage! and it wasn't so bad...dp was a pro. the worst problem was turning on the wipers every time he wanted the turn signal. jokes! noosa's a lovely beach with crashing waves & hot hot sand. unfortunately, it's a bit high end w/ upscale shopping and beach-front accommodations for $500/night! arriving at 3pm with no prior reservations at the height of holiday season once again left us paying $120 for a night at a place 20 mins away from the beach. sigh...but we made the most of it, taking advantage of the pool and hot tub after a long day of being tossed around by waves on the beach!
