track our trek

finally ryan has arrived! we've been so looking forward to this visit! we couldn't wait to show him around to some of the places we'd seen in bangkok & check out a few new spots we had saved...we met him at the airport at 12:30 am...the airport was bustling as ever at that hour with lots of international flights arriving. we dropped his bags at our room and hit the streets for a late night stroll...we had moved to a hostel closer to the red light district (because they had proper triple rooms available...not for the location believe me.) after one night there at much higher prices, we decided to head back to asha guesthouse w/ an extra mattress on the floor...the atmosphere and the pool were worth the sacrifice! we'd had enough of the seedy side of things! we spent the first couple days touring the grand palace, which dp and i hadn't seen, and riding the river ferry up and down the chao praya river. we had a blast seeing the ant bully in 3d at bangkok's 7-story imax theater!...and i can't forget to mention that ryan came stocked with myriad cold medicines and a set of travel-sized clippers for us, so we promptly set about giving each other much needed haircuts! woohoo!
